AKITAS AND HYPOTHYROIDISM

Hypothyroidism is a very common affliction among Akitas, possibly affecting

as much as 70-90%! In most cases, Akitas will not show any signs/symptoms until

they reach 4-8 years of age, but may present younger or older. If your Akita is displaying any odd behavior (like sudden, uncharacteristic aggression or anxiety) or has physical symptoms that just will not go away (like skin infection, hair loss, weight gain), or if you'd just like to research this disease, please read the attached article. We now include this in all of our adoption packets.

LOST DOG INFO PACKET

This is another thing we include in all of our adoption packets. This article

gives you tips on what you can do now to safe-guard your pet should they

become lost, and what you should do if they should get lost.
